An Easter Prayer

God, give united states eyes to run into
the dazzler of the Jump,
And to behold Your majesty
in every living thing.

And may we run across in lacy leaves
and every budding blossom
The Mitt that rules the universe
with gentleness and ability.

And may this Easter grandeur
that Spring lavishly imparts
Awaken faded flowers of faith
Luing fallow in our hearts.

And give us ears to hear, dear God
the Springtime song of birds
With messages more meaningful
than man's oftentimes empty words.

Telling harried human beings
who are lost in dark despair
'Exist like us and exercise not worry
for God has you lot in his care.'

~ Helen Steiner Rice

An Easter Flower Gift

O dearest bloom the seasons know,
Flowers of the Resurrection blow,
Our hope and faith restore;
And through the bitterness of decease
And loss and sorrow, breathe and jiff
Of life forevermore!

The thought of Love Immortal blends
With fond rememberances of friends;
In you, O sacred flowers,
Past human being love made doubly sweet,
The heavenly and the earthly run across,
The heart of Christ is ours!

~ John Greenleaf Whittier

Easter

I got me flowers to harbinger Thy way,
I got me boughs off many a tree;
But Thousand wast up by break of day,
And brought'st Thy sweets along with Thee.
Withal though my flowers exist lost, they say
A heart can never come likewise late;
Teach it to sing Thy praise this day,
And and so this day my life shall date.

~ George Herbert (1593-1632)

Permit our hearts fill with joy, as it'south meaning understood,
To be with God for evermore, in presence of such good.
Our fleeting life upon this world, is just a moment past,
Merely taking Gods's wondrous gife, information technology won't be our last.

The Jelly Bean Prayer for Easter

Red is for the blood He gave.
Greenish is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orangish is for the border of night.
Blackness is for the sins nosotros made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Majestic is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for a new tomorrow.

A scattering of jelly beans,

Is a prayer, a promise,
A loved ane's care for!
Happy Resurrection Sun!

Resurrection, The Easter Story

They slept, who should have guarded,
And watched over his tomb,
Just he 'rose up" and none did see
His rebirth from this womb,
His spirit graced the garden,
His final act was done,
He was "The Resurrection"
His victory had been won.

~ Ernestine Northover

Easter

Most glorious Lord of Lyfe! that, on this twenty-four hour period,
Didst brand Thy triumph over death and sin;

Make also dear Thee for the same againe;
And for Thy sake, that all lyke deare didst purchase,
With love may one some other entertayne!
And so let the states dearest, deare Love, lyke as nosotros ought,
Love is the lesson which the Lord the states taught.

Poems About Easter

Permit Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Let not your heart be troubled
Let not your soul be lamentable
Easter is a time of joy
When all hearts should be glad
Glad to know that Jesus Christ
Made it possible for men
To accept their sins forgiven
And, similar Him, to love once more
And then at this joyous season
May the wondrous Easter Story
Renew our organized religion and then we may be
Partakers of His glory

~ Helen Steiner Rice

Inspirational Easter Poem

Once upon a time there was
a baby virgin born
Whose perfect life would end
as the sacred veil was torn
His death and resurrection
would millennia inspire
His message of grace and hope and honey
would prepare the world on fire
Eternal life He sought to bring
by stepping down from Heaven
Mankind can scarcely understand
the Souvenir we take been given
And so accept His loving sacrifice
by trusting in His grace
And know that you volition ane day come across
this Savior face to confront

Easter Joy

Jesus came to earth,
To show u.s. how to live,
How to put others beginning,
How to love and how to give.

Then He fix about His work,
That God sent Him to do;
He took our punishment on Himself;
He made us clean and new.

He could accept saved Himself,
Calling angels from above,
But He chose to pay our price for sin;
He paid it out of love.

Our Lord died on Good Fri,
Only the cross did non destroy
His resurrection on Easter morn
That fills our hearts with joy.

Now we know our earthly decease,
Similar His, is just a rest.
We'll exist forever with Him
In heaven, where life is best.

So nosotros live our lives for Jesus,
Call back of Him in all we do.
Thanks Savior; Thank y'all Lord.
Assistance us love like you lot!

Beneath Thy Cross

Am I a rock, and not a sheep,
That I tin stand, O Christ, below thy cross,
To number drop by drop Thy Blood's slow loss,
And still not weep?

Not so those women loved
Who with exceeding grief lamented Thee;
Non and so fallen Peter weeping bitterly;
Not so the thief was moved;

Non and then the Sun and Moon
Which hid their faces in a starless heaven,
A horror of great darkness at broad apex--
I, merely I.

Yet give not o'er,
But seek Thy sheep, true Shepherd of the flock;
Greater than Moses, turn and look over again
And smite a stone.

~ Christina Rossetti

Christian Easter Verse form: The Shadow of the Cross

At the drowsy dusk when the shadows creep
From the gold w, where the sunbeams sleep,
An angel mused: "Is there skillful or sick
In the mad world's centre, since on Calvary's colina
'Round the cross a mid-twenty-four hour period twilight brutal
That darkened earth and o'ershadowed hell?"
Through the streets of a city the angel sped;
Like an open curl men's hearts he read.
In a monarch's ear his courtiers lied
And apprehensive faces hid hearts of pride.
Men's hate waxed hot, and their hearts grew common cold,
As they haggled and fought for the lust of gold.
Despairing, he cried, "After all these years
Is in that location null but hatred and strife and tears?"
He plant two waifs in an attic bare;
-- A unmarried crust was their meagre fare --
One strove to tranquillity the other's cries,
And the love-light dawned in her famished eyes
Equally she kissed the kid with a motherly air:
"I don't need mine, y'all tin can have my share."
Then the angel knew that the earthly cantankerous
And the sorrow and shame were not wholly loss.
At dawn, when hushful was earth's busy hum
And men looked not for their Christ to come up,
From the attic poor to the palace grand,
The King and the beggar went hand in hand.

~ John McCrae (1872-1918)

Easter Verse form: Hang It On The Cross

If you have a underground sorrow,
a burden or a loss,
An aching need for healing...
Hang it on the Cross.
If worry steals your sleep
and makes you turn and toss,
If your centre is feeling heavy...
Hang it on the Cross.
Every obstacle to faith
or doubt you lot come across,
Every prayer unanswered...
Hang information technology on the Cross.
For Christ has borne
our brokenness
and dearly paid the cost
To turn our trials to triumph...
Hanging on the Cross

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy volition be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily staff of life.
And forgive usa our trespasses,
Equally nosotros forgive those who trespass against us.
And pb us non into temptation,
But deliver usa from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen

An Easter Offering

I watched a lily through the Lenten-tide;
From when its emerald sheath outset pierced the mould.
I saw the satin blades uncurl, unfold,
And, softly upwards, stretch with witting pride
Toward the off-white sky. At length, the leaves beside,
At that place came a flower beauteous to behold,
Animate of purest joy and peace untold;
Its radiance graced the Easter altar-side.
And in my heart at that place rose a sense of shame
That I, alas, no precious souvenir had brought
Which could approach the dazzler of this thing--
I who had sought to deport the Master'southward proper name!
Humbly I bowed while meek repentance wrought,
With silent tears, her chastened offer.

~ Blanche Burbank

Sing, Earth, Sing!

Now in dank places
Where the snow had been,
Woods and field and hollow,
Easter flowers begin.

Now a bud is opened,
Now a leaf uncurled;
Spring is in the sweet wind
Walking down the world.

Snowdrops in the garden,
Violets on the hills,
Cowslips in the meadow,
Dancing daffodils

Seem to elevator their faces,
Softly whispering,
"Easter's about hither, now -
Sing, earth, sing!"

~ Nancy Byrd Turner

More than Easter bunnies
And chocolate eggs galore.
Is the cross of Calvary
The sacrifice of our Lord
For Jesus is the reason,
We all can gloat
And come up to Him to freely receive
His love and saving grace.

~ M.Southward. Lowndes

Easter 24-hour interval

Christ the Lord is risen today!
Angels rolled the stone abroad
From the tomb wherein He lay!

Piddling children, come and sing,
"Celebrity, glory to the Rex
Christ the Lord of everything!"

~ Evaleen Stein

Meeting The Easter Bunny

On Easter morning at early on dawn
earlier the cocks were crowing
I met a bob-tail bunnykin
and asked where he was going.
"Tis in the house and out the firm
a-tipsy, tipsy-toeing,
Tis round the firm and 'tour the business firm
a-lightly I am going."
"But what is that of every hue
you carry in your basket?"
"Tis eggs of gilt and eggs of blue;
I wonder that you lot ask it.
Tis chocolate eggs and bonbon eggs
and eggs of blood-red and gray,
For every child in every house
on bonny Easter day."
He perked his ears and winked his center
and twitched his little nose;
He shook his tail-- what tail he had --
and stood up on his toes.
"I must be gone before the sun;
the east is growing grey;
Tis almost time for bells to chime." --
So he hippity-hopped away.

~ Rowena Bennett
